Researchers have found that up to 20 percent of people are affected by a gene that makes their brain highly sensitive to emotional images.

 The study used MRI scans to monitor the level of empathy, and found that most people pay less attention to those images, and they are much less emotionally reactive.

The new findings prove that especially high levels of awareness and emotional responsiveness are vital features of this special class of humans.
